“Collapse”, 2009
Chris Smith, director
Interview: Michael C. Ruppert
Collapse is a documentary about an author, and former police officer, Michael Ruppert. This video goes into depth about his ideology of how the world is going to “collapse” due the Peak of Oil. The Peak of Oil is the point in which oil will never increase from where it was. Ruppert expresses his ideas of how humans are using oil for everything, therefore destroying our land. After 9/11 took place, the bombing of New York’s Twin Towers, Ruppert decided to go more into depth about energy. Ruppert discovered that the energy used is in relation to the peak of oil. He states that the U.S. Invaded Iraq rather than Saudi Arabia, the people who are “supposedly” responsible for 9/11, because Iraq has oil. He also states that Saudi Arabia has no more oil and has passed its peak. He states that the reason why it isn’t announced because if it was then there would be a revolution. This revolution would lead to the destruction of its people. It is now time for the U.S. to reach its peak and when that happens, life as we know it would change. Ruppert caution his readers in his books and this documentary, but stopped because he doesn’t have to acknowledge the government anymore. He proved his point and states that the information has been out there.
Key Words:
CIA Drug Smugglers
As a former police officer, Ruppert discovered that the CIA was smuggling drugs and thought that the government would fix this kind of corruption, but they didn’t. This demonstrates that the government ignores that facts, and this is a small example of how the peak of oil, elevated thus far.
The Peak of Oil
Oil is used for everything, from plastic to toothpaste. The Peak of Oil is the point in which production (oil) will never increase from where it was. It stops at the maximum and then decreases. This is what is happening now. The resource of oil is becoming scarce and without oil, there is no technology and electricity.
Fiat Currency
“We cannot print any more energy than there is” (Ruppert asserts). The invention of money is useless because you cannot put a price on limited natural resources such as water and oil.
Darwinism
The elimination of oil would result in a new age of evolution. Darwinism is the ideology that those who are fit, will survive. These “survivors” are able to adapt, which would allow them to survive, when the earth does “collapse”.
